Instructions are given for using a circular needle using the magic loop method, with the option of using double pointed needles, either way will work just fine! In case you are new to socks, I made a video tutorial for you showing you all of the techniques used to knit toe up socks including how to cast on for the toe, work the increases for the toe, and knit the short row heel here 🙂

The heart is applied to the knee after the socks are finished by duplicate stitch (link to video tutorial included). The pattern includes lots of information for customizing these socks if making them for yourself or as a gift, as long as you know your recipients shoe size and height you will be able to make a perfect fit!
